Arabic Identity and Prejudice

I am not an Arab; I am an 'Arabophone'.. but what does that mean? and how does it reflect on my overall identity?

There are about three layers to what is conventionally called 'Arabic Identity':

1- The one which the prophet of Islam promoted is that 'Arabic' is a linguistic identity.. Basically, an 'Arab' is an Arabic-speaking person--an 'Arabophone' (like Francophone or Anglophone), "typically as primary language, whether referring to individuals, groups, or places."*.. While lip-service is often paid to this legitimate definition, in reality the two other layers are more dominant in influencing existing social relations, 

2- Arabic as an ethnic identity (ethnicity combines language and culture, with a cultural emphasis), and

3- Arabic as a racial identity (i.e., genotype and, more importantly, phenotype)**.

There are Negroids (racial definition, like me) and other races that are arabophone.. There are some other races, including Negroids, that share some aspects with the Arabic ethnic identity (language and culture), through the historic influence of Islam, although they are still not 'Arabs' in the ethnic sense (Arab ethnic groups are mostly from the Arabian peninsula).. As a racial definition, however, Arabs are Caucasians, and just like the Jews, are geneologically Semitic.

Racial prejudice is abundant in the sense that some people like to keep the 'Arabic' definition for the race only, and then assume a level of supremacy over other Muslims and Arabophones on that basis.. Ethnic prejudice also exists in the sense that some would like the Arabic ethnicity dominant, as a frame of reference, in the Middle East and Northern Africa, while all other ethnic groups should acknowledge it as the better one in the crowd, often through its false claim that it is the most legitimate representative of Islamic identity.

Arabophones and Muslims of other ethnic groups, and other peoples who happen to share the same geopolitical boundaries with Arabs, or Arab-wanna-be's, (in the racial and ethnic sense), are the victims of these prejudices.

As evident, the issue is quite complicated, but these basic guidelines can be used to recognize general trends.. And these trends are real.
